Description of Ground-type G-type rotating micro sprinkler
Unlike standard static emitters, the G-type rotating micro sprinkler is engineered with a high-torque spinner housed within a reinforced, aerodynamic “G-frame” that minimizes spray shadow and structural vibration. The core mechanism utilizes a precision-machined vortex nozzle that generates a controlled turbulent flow, effectively preventing the accumulation of mineral deposits and fine sediment—a common failure point in micro-irrigation. By leveraging centrifugal force via its balanced rotor, the system ensures a high Coefficient of Uniformity (CU > 85%), delivering consistent droplet sizes that penetrate the soil canopy without causing surface sealing or soil erosion.
Designed specifically for under-tree irrigation and greenhouse climate control, the ground-inserted configuration utilizes a low-angle trajectory to mitigate wind-induced drift and evaporative loss. This ensures that the wetted radius remains concentrated within the target root zone, maximizing Water Use Efficiency (WUE). A critical technical advantage of many G-type models is the “integrated seal” or anti-insect design: when water pressure P drops below operating levels, the rotating spinner retracts to seal the orifice. This physical barrier prevents soil-dwelling insects and debris from entering the internal chambers, drastically reducing maintenance cycles in high-dust or biologically active environments.
Applications of G-type micro sprinkler in Micro Irrigation Systems

Precision Sub-Canopy Fertigation and Micro-Climate Modulation
In high-density permanent crop systems, such as citrus, macadamia, and avocado orchards, G-type micro sprinklers are the gold standard for Sub-Canopy Fertigation. Unlike drip lines that may create localized salt accumulation, the G-type’s rotating action ensures a broader, more uniform wetting salt-leaching pattern, which promotes a more expansive and resilient root architecture. This is particularly critical in soils with low hydraulic conductivity, where vertical infiltration must be balanced with lateral spread to prevent nutrient runoff.
