Irrigation Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers to technical questions about drip systems, valves, ordering terms, custom OEM manufacturing, and quality certifications.
Drip Irrigation Systems
How do I choose between Pressure-Compensating (PC) and Non-PC drip emitters?
Pressure-Compensating (PC) emitters maintain a uniform discharge rate even with pressure variations caused by sloped terrain or long lateral runs. They are recommended for undulating fields or long rows. Non-PC emitters produce higher flow at higher pressure and lower flow at lower pressure; they are cost-effective for flat fields and short row lengths.
How often should drip tape lines be flushed?
We recommend flushing lateral lines during initial system installation, after fertilizer injections, and at least once every 2–4 weeks during operating season. Regular end-cap flushing removes accumulated organic matter and chemical sediment before clogging occurs.
What operating pressure is recommended for drip tape?
Standard thin-wall drip tape operates best between 0.6 bar to 1.2 bar (8.7 to 17.4 PSI). Exceeding recommended pressure ratings may cause tape bursting or connection detachment, so installing a pressure regulator at the sub-main connection is highly advised.
Irrigation Valves
What coil voltage options are available for Trex solenoid valves?
Our electrical solenoid valves come with multiple standard voltage options including 24V AC, 12V DC, 24V DC, and 9-12V DC Latching (ideal for battery-operated field controllers). Custom voltage specs can also be supplied upon request.
Where should air release valves be placed in an irrigation system?
Air release valves should be installed at system high points, immediately downstream of pumps, adjacent to control valves, and at the ends of long mainline pipe sections to release trapped air pockets and prevent vacuum collapse during drainage.
How do hydraulic control valves prevent water hammer?
Hydraulic valves utilize slow-closing diaphragm mechanisms driven by line pressure. By controlling the opening and closing speed via pilot controls, the valve prevents rapid fluid deceleration, neutralizing destructive pressure surges (water hammer).
Ordering, MOQ & Shipping
What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for factory direct orders?
MOQs depend on the product line:
- Drip Tape / Drip Line: 10,000 to 50,000 meters depending on wall thickness.
- Valves & Fittings: 500 to 1,000 pieces per standard item.
- Full Container Load (FCL): We offer mixed-product container consolidation for distributors to meet individual item MOQs easily.
What are your standard production lead times?
Standard order lead time is 15 to 25 business days from order confirmation and deposit payment. Peak agricultural purchasing seasons may extend lead times slightly; urgent shipment requests can be prioritized upon consultation.
Which Incoterms and shipping methods do you support?
We support standard global trade terms including FOB, CIF, CFR, EXW, and DDP/DDU. Goods are shipped via ocean container freight (FCL/LCL), air cargo, or international express for urgent sample deliveries.
OEM & Custom Production
Can Trex produce drip tape or fittings under our private brand label?
Yes. We offer comprehensive OEM private labeling services. We can customize outer tape laser markings, carton printing, plastic fitting colors, and roll packaging labels matching your company branding guidelines.
Is it possible to request custom dripper spacing or non-standard wall thickness?
Absolutely. We can adjust emitter spacing (e.g., 10cm, 15cm, 20cm, 30cm, 50cm) and wall thickness according to specific regional agricultural requirements, subject to minimum production volume thresholds.
Certifications & Standards
What quality certifications do Trex products hold?
Trex manufacturing facilities are certified under ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management). Our products undergo rigorous hydrostatic, tensile, flow-uniformity, and UV aging tests in compliance with ISO 9261 international drip emitter standards.
Are raw materials UV-stabilized for outdoor durability?
Yes, all Trex drip tubing, PE pipes, plastic sprinklers, and fittings are manufactured using high-grade virgin polymers enriched with carbon black and specialized UV inhibitors to withstand harsh sunlight exposure and agricultural chemicals.
